Xiphophorus birchmanni. Sheepshead Swordtail Status in nature:- Common Status in hobby:- Being maintained Range:- extensive, SE. Rio Panuco Basin, low to high elevations, eastern slope, Sierra Madre. Morphs:- various spotting pattern, also yellow Comments:- Is found in cool water 58⁰F /13⁰C

Xiphophorus clemenciae. Yellow Swordtail Status in nature:- Restricted but common Status in hobby:- Not established Range:- Rio Sarabia, adjacent area. Comments:- Salmon coloured sword, stripes 3-4, salmon spots on dorsal and caudal fin. As easy to breed as Xiphophorus helleri.

Again this is genetically sex-linked Comments:- when this species is kept at optimum conditions, and with sunlight, it becomes a beautiful metallic, iridescant blue.
