Weekend in Denmark
13. of March 2005
Scandinavia is arranging a spectacular weekend 11.-13. of March 2005, in
connection with our annual general meeting.
have rented a lodge, which sleeps 100 people in mostly 4-bed rooms (3 8-bed)
as you can see on the layout.
The lodge is place 25 km south of Frederikshavn and 330 km north of the German/Danish
border. The nearest airport is Aalborg (AAL) from which pick up can be
arranged (35 min in car).
lodge is placed less than 1 km from the beach, in beautiful nature and we have
the whole place to our self, so this is a good opportunity to bring the wife
and kids and make it into a family trip.
Lodge is called Møllegården and is located at “Nordostvej 40” (street
name) and the postal code is 9300 Sæby.
You can see where exactly it is by using a web based map such as www.map24.co.uk
(French) or any of your own preference. Just use “Nordostvej 40” as street
name and “9300” as postal code.
for the weekend:
11th of March 2005
Arrival and accommodation. If you arrive hungry, you can pre-order pizzas
which will be hot when you arrive (not included in the price). People will
just arrive and then hang out with everybody else and get a good fish
12th of March 2005
A visit to Credo Fish breeding centre, which is the largest ornamental
breeding centre in Denmark. The centre is placed 15 km form the lodge and
it is a very interesting trip. There is something special in seeing 5.000
red platys in the same tank. In total they produce more than 600.000 fish
a week. If the time allows, we may persuade them to sell a few fish, if
you have found that special fish that you can’t live without.
Lunch back at the Lodge.
The first lecture is given by Luis Humberto Escalera Vazquez and Omar
Dominquez from Morelia University in Mexico. They will give us an
introduction to the species maintenance center and the work that they have
participated in, supported by Ivan Dibbles effort and some funding from
the livebearer societies around the world.
Short break and Coffee
The second lecture is given by Fred N. Poeser, from Holland. Fred will
give us a good and humorous lecture on everything you ever wanted to know
about Mollies, Pseudo-mollies, guppies and pseudo-guppies.
Auction. We have made arrangements with Omar and Luis to bring fish, fresh
from the University. These will be placed on auction together with Your
fish. We know 1½ hour is not a lot of time for a auction, so if we run
out off time, we will find a time later that night or Sunday morning.
Changing for dinner
A 3 course dinner with two different menus: one with meat and one for
vegetarians. Both will of cause include starters, main course and dessert.
The menus will
be announced in mid December.
13th of March 2005
Annual general meeting for the members of Poecilia Scandinavia.
Non-members are encouraged to take a walk in the surroundings, chill out
in the lounge or just sleep in.
Lunch and goodbyes. The weekend have ended and we are sorry to say, but
you have to go home. We will evaluate the weekend and if it was a success,
we will repeat it.
The entire weekend will only cost you 40€ per person. This covers your stay,
whether you arrive Friday evening or Saturday morning, 2 x breakfast, 2 x
lunch, 3-course dinner and final cleaning.
soft drinks and wine are not included in the price, but can be bought at very
reasonable prices (beers and soft drinks approx. 1,5€ and wines from 7€)
You need to fill in the form,
or send an email to Michael
letting us how many people you will come. We have no means of receiving
payment from outside Scandinavia, so if you make a reservation, we consider it
as a promise to pay the fee of 40€. Fee is payable upon arrival.
are working on a first come first serve basis, and the last chance is set to
11th of February 2005.
